Habitar és un projecte en litografia i xilografia acompanyat d’unes accions documentades en fotografia. També he treballat en fusta, fent estructures i formes amb llistons. Sento una afectivitat pel material i estic interessada per la memòria i el temps, per aquesta raó treballo en aquesta línea, ja que la pedra litogràfica engloba aquests conceptes.

La idea del projecte va començar a sorgir a Bèlgica, a partir d’uns dibuixos de teulades que vaig fer allà. Són dibuixos de línea amb la intenció de captar els detalls de les teulades belgues, i per ser enviats com una postal, un souvenir. Després vaig començar  la reflexió que avarca aquest projecte al voltant de l’espai, el buit, els límits i l’habitatge.

Les teulades, aquests dibuixos en una fina línea de bolígraf, descriuen un límit en l’espai banc del paper. És un espai buit però que pot ser omplert, un espai lliure per la imaginació i per una nova construcció, l’espai del misteri. Crec en la necessitat d’espais buits per poder crear. Però potser és necessari un límit, i no com una frontera.

A partir de les teulades, aquests límits en un espai que es concreta he començat a construir. Els dibuixos i les estructures de fusta són com forats, on pots col·locar-te de diferents maneres, on el cos, la ment o el gest poden començar una nova experiència. La nostra vida i el nostre món està sovint construït a partir de límits que hem d’utilitzar i no quedar sotmesos a ells.

D’altra banda, el projecte pren una deriva més reivindicativa, una reflexió crítica de l’actual problemàtica de l’habitatge. Em refereixo al dret de tenir casa, i el context en el que treballo sobre el forat i el buit hi està intrínsicament connectat. La teulada és la tapa de la nostra casa, el que la cobreix, el què separa l’interior de l’exterior, un límit, on ens sentim segurs, el nostre refugi.

Habitar is lithography and woodcut project accompanied of actions documented by photography. Also, I worked with wood, making some structures, and forms slatted. I feel affectivity for the material and an interest for the memory and the time, for these reasons I follow this way.

The idea behind this project started off in Belgium from some roofs drawings I made there. There were line drawings made for sending like a postcard, a souvenir. And then I start a reflexion about the empty, the space, the limits and the housing.

I started beginning to see these roofs as they were drawing a limit, a space in the white of the paper. It is an empty space that can be full, a space for imagination and a new construction, the space of the mystery. We need empty spaces to create. But maybe it is necessary a limit, not like a border. And this is the basic theme in the works I made for this project.

In this way I start to construct from these roofs, this limits, this concrete spaces. The drawings and the structures are like holes, where we can go inside in different forms, where our body and our mind can have a new experience. Also our life and world have limits that we have to use and not be subject to them.

In another hand I the project takes a more protest way around the current problem about the housing. I refer to the right to have a house, and the context of the hole and the gap is inextricably connected. The roof is the top of the house, what cover it, what separate the inside of the outside, a limit, where we feel secure, our shelter.
